The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear.

Was the government to prescribe to us our medicine and diet, our bodies would be in such keeping as our souls are now.

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.

The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits.

No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal rights of another, and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him.

In matters of style, swim with the current;
In matters of principle, stand like a rock.

To take from one because it is thought that his own industry and that of his father’s has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association—the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.

Aside from reading, one of my interests is essential oils. Anyone who’s given them a try knows how deliciously fragrant most of them can be and how wonderfully they work on various ailments.

Here are a few of my favorite blends for aching muscles.

Remember to ALWAYS be sure your essential oils are added to a base oil, such as sweet almond, coconut, grapeseed, hemp, or olive oil. There are many to choose from. Also, use cautiously if you tend to have allergies.

In a 4 oz bottle combine the following:

14 drops lavender essential oil
14 drops chamomile essential oil
8 drops clove essential oil
4 drops clary sage essential oil

Fill the rest of the bottle with your chosen base oil.

Another nice variation if you’d like the mixture to have a bit more of a anti stress affect:

10 drops lavender essential oil
14 drops chamomile essential oil
8 drops peppermint essential oil
8 drops neroli essential oil

Fill the rest of the bottle with your chosen base oil.

Massage either of these blends into the aching muscles. Or better yet, have someone special do it for you.

I have several books that are very helpful and informative. If you’re interested you can check out some books on the topic here:  Essential Oils

Edgar Cayce Quotes

“The purpose of the heart is to know yourself to be yourself and yet one with God.”

“You can never lose anything that really belongs to you, and you can’t keep that which belongs to someone else.”

“For, he that expects nothing shall not be disappointed, but he that expects much – if he lives and uses that in hand day by day – shall be full to running over.”

“Know this: that whatever situation you find yourself in, it is what is necessary for your development. An entity must apply in its associations from day to day a word here and a word there, one today, another tomorrow, and the next day, with the understanding that from such activities in word and deed, self-development will come… When an entity has prepared itself through constant forward movement towards service, the necessary circumstances for change will come about so that he may see the next step, the next opportunity… Haste not and be not over-anxious; for is not the whole of the building of His making?”

“It can be a fascinating game, noticing how any person with vitality and vigor will have a little splash of red in a costume, in a room, or in a garden…”

“Dreams are today’s answers to tomorrow’s questions.”

Rumi Quotes

I’ve been a Rumi fan since the first time I read his poems. Here are some of my favorite quotes.

“The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you; Don’t go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want; Don’t go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don’t go back to sleep.

“Everyone has been made for some particular work, and the desire for that work has been put in every heart.”

“Beyond this world and life we know there is Someone watching over us. To know Him is not in our power. But once in a glimpse I saw that we are His shadow and our shadow is the world.”

“The minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.”

“The agony of lovers burns with the fire of passion. Lovers leave traces of where they’ve been. The wailing of broken hearts is the doorway to God.”

“Something opens our wings. Something makes boredom and hurt disappear. Someone fills the cup in front of us: We taste only sacredness.”

Selected Works by Rumi

“I think that perhaps we always fall in love the very first time we see the man of our dreams, even though, at the time, reason may be telling otherwise, and we may fight against that instinct, hoping against hope that we won’t win, until there comes a point when we allow ourselves to be vanquished by our feelings…”

“Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worse kind of suffering.”

“Pitiful is the person who is afraid of taking risks. Perhaps this person will never be disappointed or disillusioned; perhaps she won’t suffer the way people do when they have a dream to follow. But when the person looks back-she will hear her heart”

“The Soul of the World is nourished by people’s happiness. And also by unhappiness, envy, and jealousy. To realize one’s Personal Legend is a person’s only real obligation. All things are one. And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
